2010 NBA Finals: The Tipping Point on Rajon Rondo and Derek Fisher

The NBA Finals are here and it couldn't be soon enough. Fans have been debating who has the better team and the popular pick is the Los Angeles Lakers.

In fact, the spectrum of Kobe Bryant does give the Lakers the edge, as well as the fact that they're defending champions.

No one saw a Boston-L.A. matchup coming and it may possibly have saved the sanctity of the game.

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics will not have the same approach to this series.  L.A. has a situation where 80 percent of the work is done by 20 percent of the participants.

Boston is a little more balanced where 20 percent of the work is done by 80 percent of the participants. 

Both cities represent the core values on which the NBA was built—team play and a balanced attack.  Maybe now the other 28 teams will finally learn that it is about team play after all. 

Team play begins with a point guard that understands and fulfills his role.  That role can be to bring the ball up like Derek fisher or be the focal point of attack like Rajon Rondo.

We all know what the superstars will bring, but Fisher and Rondo may decide the outcome of the 2010 Finals.

Fisher has the edge in experience as well as championship rings. Rondo brings the rare opportunity of having a championship and going deep into the playoffs at a young age.

When they meet in the Finals they will bring the world together. They represent the law of the few in the NBA whose franchises invariably win championships.

Rondo wants to leave no doubt that he can lead the Celtics to a championship.  He will be a factor by running his team, regardless of what Fisher does.

Can Rondo be the catalyst to bring home banner 18? Derek Fisher hopes to make that a resounding "no!"

He is stronger and more active on defense than any other guard that Rondo has faced.  Like Rondo, Fisher takes advantage of what his opponents give him.  His savvy will force Rondo to curb his thieving ways.

Either one can tip the scale in his teams favor and they will provide the background for an intriguing matchup.
