Twitter Reacts to Locker Room Altercation Between Clippers and Rockets

Andrew GouldJan 16, 2018

The Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets saved some drama for after Monday night's game. Following a 113-102 Clippers win in a testy battle, the bad blood reportedly carried into the locker room.

According to ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski, Rockets players Chris Paul, James Harden, Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green stormed into the Clippers locker room through a back door to confront Blake Griffin and Austin Rivers. Clint Capela later knocked on the door to the front entrance. A staffer closed the door on the 23-year-old big man.

Per ABC Los Angeles' Ashley Brewer, police were called to settle the situation.

Griffin and Rivers both joked about the tense situation on Twitter, but teammate Patrick Beverley—who spent the last five years in Houston—did not seem to be laughing:

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey also joined the fun by evoking Paul Pierce, who played his final two seasons with the Clippers.

Twitter users unsurprisingly had plenty to say about the fact Paul led players to confront his former teammates through a back door. They also interpreted Capela's direct approach as a Trojan horse:

The Clippers have until Feb. 28 to blockade the Staples Center's locker room in preparation of their next encounter with the Rockets.
