NBA B/R Kicks of the Week: Best on Court for NBA Week 5
As we celebrate all of our post-holiday food comas, let's lay back and browse the best kicks we've seen in the NBA over the last seven days.
The heat never stops pouring in, giving us plenty of ammunition to find some hidden gems.
You know the drill. It's time to check out the five best footwear choices worn by the NBA's vibrant sneaker community for Week 5 of the 2016-17 season.
Tyler Ulis: Nike KD IV ''All-Star'
1 of 5Who: Phoenix Suns guard Tyler Ulis
Sneaker Worn: Nike KD 4 "All-Star"
When you log an average of 11.4 minutes per game, you have to make every one count. Phoenix Suns guard Tyler Ulis took his limited role and turned it into a sneakerhead's paradise.
Breaking out the super clean KD IV "All-Star" was a brave choice by John Calipari's former pupil. The shoe was a glossy effort worn in 2012 by Kevin Durant himself. What's cool about this shoe, outside of the advanced specs, is the "All-Star" colorway resembles all of the hues in the Suns' uniform.
This was a slick choice by Ulis and one that belongs on our weekly list.
Dwyane Wade: Way of Wade 5 'Player Exclusive'
2 of 5Who: Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade
Sneaker Worn: Way of Wade 5 "Player Exclusive"
It's still crazy to think Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade doesn't have an endorsement deal with one of the major North American brands. But when you look back at Wade's days with Nike and Jordan Brand, you kind of understand why.
Wade was never really given a platform to create his own sneaker. Chinese company Li-Ning stepped up and rectified the situation. The Way of Wade line started in 2012, per ESPN's Christopher Beam, and has since become part of Wade's on-court image.
The Chicago Bulls guard has carried the company into relevancy and helped turn the product into something worthwhile. His latest Way of Wade 5 is no different.
This sneaker has been a strong follow up to the Way of Wade 4. And on Nov. 19, we got to see a dope "Player Exclusive" version against the Los Angeles Clippers take flight.
Marcus Morris: Air Jordan XI PRM 'Sail'
3 of 5Who: Detroit Pistons forward Marcus Morris
Sneaker Worn: Air Jordan 11 PRM "Sail"
Marcus Morris stepped into the halls of sneaker greatness when he decided to wear a pair of the Air Jordan XI PRM "Sails" against the Houston Rockets on Nov. 21.
The shoe oozes all types of debonair materials starting with a premium suede upper and the use of leather laces. Inside this sneaker is where you'll find layers upon layers of comfort. For those who haven't seen a pair firsthand, the Air Jordan XI PRM "Sail" also comes equipped with a leather quilted insole.
Despite being a casual shoe by all accounts, this was a bold choice by Morris. He deserves a place on this list for the fifth week of NBA sneaker action.
Eric Bledsoe: Nike LeBron Soldier 10
4 of 5Who: Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe
Sneaker Worn: Nike LeBron Soldier 10
Paying homage to LeBron James and his uber-popular Nike LeBron Soldier 10 model, Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe broke out a crispy pair of the King's kicks against the Washington Wizards on Nov. 21.
We've talked about how this shoe has reverberated through the sneaker community dating back to the 2015-16 NBA Finals. This year, if it's not James stunting in "Player Exclusive" pairs, it's been his peers.
Bledsoe strapped on the Soldier 10s and went to work. You can't ask for anything more than that.
DeMar DeRozan: Nike Kobe 11 Elite
5 of 5
Who: Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan
Sneaker Worn: Nike Kobe XI Elite
DeMar DeRozan loves himself a pair of Kobe Bryant's signature sneakers. The Toronto Raptors guard rocking the Nike Kobe XI Elite marks the second time we've shouted him out.
By choosing the Kobe 11 Elite, DeRozan went straight to the performance well. It's a sophisticated sneaker that brings fit, style, comfort and support all together in one cohesive, Flyknit-driven silhouette.
There's nothing bad to say. This sneaker truly stands on its own merits, and DeRozan wearing it is evidence of that.
