Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James dismissed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's assertion that the comments he made about women in a leaked video was "locker room talk," stating "we don't disrespect women in no shape or fashion in our locker room."

Spencer Davies of Fox Sports Ohio passed along a video Wednesday afternoon with James' full remarks about the hot-button issue:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton chimed in on Twitter on James' comments:

James' public response to the situation comes just over a week after he formally endorsed Trump's main opponent, Clinton, in an op-ed for Business Insider. He cited her work with children as a key reason for his choice.

"Like my foundation, Hillary has always been a champion for children and their futures," he wrote. "For over 40 years, she's been working to improve public schools, expand access to health care, support children's hospitals, and so much more."

David A. Fahrenthold of the Washington Post first reported about the details of the audio of lewd conversation involving Trump and Billy Bush of Access Hollywood in 2005, in which Trump detailed interactions with women. The article also included the candidate's apology.

Trump also posted a message on social media characterizing his behavior as "locker room talk":

Max Blau of CNN noted several athletes besides James have since spoken out denying that type of conversation has ever occurred in their locker room. It's a group that includes basketball player C.J. McCollum, baseball player Sean Doolittle and soccer player Robbie Rogers.
