Cavaliers Fan Starts GoFundMe Page to Beg Team to Bench Kevin Love for Finals

Kyle NewportJun 15, 2016

Poor Kevin Love.

Despite earning three NBA All-Star nods and once being thought of as one of the best big men in the league, the 27-year-old forward is viewed by some as a hindrance to the Cleveland Cavaliers' championship bid.

Now, a Cavaliers fan has started a GoFundMe page to try to keep Love benched for Game 6 (and Game 7, if necessary) of the 2016 NBA Finals.

Here's the fan's reasoning, per Rick Chandler of Sports Grid: "Kevin Love is playing like a bum and just taking up room on the court. Pay this man to take a seat and let the Cavs win these Finals!!"

The Golden State Warriors thumped Cleveland in the first two games of the series, both of which Love started. However, he left Game 2 after getting hit in the head and missed Game 3 with a concussion. Without Love, the Cavaliers dominated the Warriors 120-90. Since returning in Game 4, Love has been relatively ineffective, totaling 13 points and eight rebounds over two contests.

The fan's goal is to raise $10 million. Through one day, the page has raised a whopping $20. With just more than 24 hours to go, it seems unlikely he'll reach the goal.

But hey, the fan just wants to do what he feels is best for the team.
