Draymond Green Becomes 1st Player to Record Rare Stat Line in Season

Bleacher Report MilestonesMar 31, 2016

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recorded his 100th block of the season in Wednesday's 103-96 win over the Utah Jazz, making him the first player in NBA history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, 100 blocks and 100 steals in the same season, per ESPN Stats & Info.

He posted a typically well-rounded stat line Wednesday, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks in 43 minutes—thereby bringing his season-long totals to 1,018 points, 714 rebounds, 550 assists, 101 blocks and 106 steals.

There is one important caveat, which is that blocks and steals weren't official stats until 1973-74. There were probably multiple players that would have accomplished the feat prior to that time, with Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson ranking among the most likely candidates.

Green's accomplishment is impressive nonetheless, as he's the first player to finish with even 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 100 blocks in the same season, putting aside the qualifications for points and steals, per ESPN Stats & Info.

He's also one of just two players who has more than five triple-doubles this season, with his 12 trailing only Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook's 16.

Furthermore, Green and LeBron James are the only forwards averaging more than 5.0 assists per game, with Green's 7.4 good for seventh place among all players, while James sits in ninth place at 6.6 dimes per game.
