Spike Lee Treats Spurs to Screening of 'Chi-Raq' at Gregg Popovich's Request

Wanting to treat his team the day before a showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich took the squad to the movies.

And the five-time champion coach was able to hook his players up with a special experience Friday night.

Popovich requested that filmmaker Spike Lee host a special screening of his 2015 drama Chi-Raq. A basketball fan, Lee—the New York Knicks' most famous fan—was more than happy to oblige the Spurs coach's wish.

Judging by the photo, it looks like everyone had a good time.

The Cavaliers will host the Spurs at 8:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC.
