'Dallas Morning News' Prints DeAndre Jordan Devil Cutout for Mavs-Clippers Game
The simplest way to preserve beef for a long time is to rub it thoroughly in salt and store it in a cold, cold place in your heart.
It works for New York strips...rib eyes...free agency grudges...all the choicest cuts of beef.ย
And from the looks of it, theย Dallas Morning Newsย is doing its part to keep the ill-fated DeAndre Jordan/Dallas Mavericks tryst fresh in mind as Wednesday's game approaches.
As the Mavericks prepare to host the Los Angeles Clippers for the first time since the franchise'sย falling out with Jordan,ย theย Morning Newsย is providing Dallas fans with a fun little cutout in remembrance of July's high-profile free agent snafu.ย
Clippers play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler tweeted an image of the paper. Just grab a pair of scissors, sports fans, and you can be the unchaste demon DeAndre Jordan, too!
The image isn't an indictment of Jordan as much as it's a commentary on the many Mavericks fans who still feel jilted and continue to harbor a deep, undying resentment for the way things played out this summer.
Even now, four months after the unforgettable banana boat lockdown that started all of this, you could still snow-proof an entire suburb with the salt that remains in Dallas over DeAndre Jordan changing his mind.
Mark Cuban made that clear before their first matchup of the season at the Staples Center.
"You can change the players, you can change the owner," Cuban said. "But the Clippers are just who they have been for the last 30 years."
That was spoken when the Mavericks were away in Los Angeles. Extrapolate that angst over to a Dallas home game and you'll get an idea of the mood Cuban and fans will have in store for Jordan at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.
Even if the game ends up being a quarter as tense as billed, it'll still pack enough sodium to clear your driveway.
