Shaquille O'Neal Says All-Time Lakers Team Would Beat Bulls Legends by 50 Points
While there's no question that the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls (72-10) are the greatest single-season team in NBA history, it's up for debate as to which franchise's all-time squad is the best.
Shaquille O'Neal played for six clubs in his NBA career, but his best years came when he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Shaq is just one of many legendary players to wear the purple and gold, which gives the Lakers a very impressive (and deep) all-time team.
On Sunday, O'Neal sparked an interesting debate by writing on Instagram that the all-time Lakers squad (Shaq, Kobe Bryant, Elgin Baylor, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) would beat the best five in Bulls history (Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Horace Grant and Derrick Rose)—by 50 points.
In other words, Shaq doesn't think the Bulls would stand a chance, even with Jordan.
Pippen responded to the Big Diesel’s comments with a throwback shot of himself and MJ, noting that together they won six championships, "twice the amount you claimed while in LA...”
Shots have indeed been fired.
And O'Neal answered those shots with a flamethrower, roasting Pippen for being Jordan's sidekick:
