Ty Lawson to Reportedly Enter 30-Day Rehab Facility Following DUI Arrest
Troubled Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will reportedly enter rehab following his arrest Monday for a DUI.
According to TMZ Sports, Lawson appeared in a Denver court for a hearing stemming from a January DUI arrest, and his lawyer announced the 27-year-old will begin treatment at a rehab center in Southern California starting Saturday.
According to that same report, the judge placed Lawson on monitored sobriety, which requires him to "routinely blow into a stationary B.A.C. monitoring device."

GM Tim Connelly spoke about Lawson, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, "Ty's going through a tough time right now but we're all behind him. Ty's a really good person. He's a Nugget so when one of our guys goes through issues. We're behind him."
Lawson, who has spent his entire six-year NBA career in Denver, has had a troubled past. He was arrested in August 2013 following a domestic violence incident, but those charges were later dismissed.
Per Blair Shiff of KUSA 9 in Colorado, during Lawson's January arrest for DUI, he told an officer about a previous DUI in Missouri.
Even as the Nuggets have tried to figure out what to do with Lawson the player, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports noted there's bigger problems that have to be sorted out:
It seems as though Lawson is on his way to taking care of some of the personal issues that have afflicted him off the court. Addressing such problems takes precedence over whatever Lawson can do on a basketball court.
