Thomas Robinson to Nets: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
The Brooklyn Nets don't have much salary-cap room to work with this summer, but they scoured the bargain bin and snatched up a quality reserve in Thomas Robinson Thursday evening.
According to Basketball Insiders' Alex Kennedy, Robinson's deal with the Nets will span two years, and the second year will be a player option. NBA.com's David Aldridge added that the total value of the contract is approximately $2.2 million, which equates to an average annual salary of $1.1 million.
Robinson took to Twitter shortly after outlets reported the signing to celebrate the news:

Re-Drafting the 2020 NBA Draft 🔄
According to ESPN.com's Mike Mazzeo, Brooklyn has been chasing Robinson for some time:
The former No. 5 overall pick has only been in the NBA for three seasons, but he can already be classified as a journeyman. After getting drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2012, Robinson has suited up for four teams, including the Kings, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers.
The Trail Blazers dealt Robinson to the Denver Nuggets, who promptly waived him, back in February, which led to his abbreviated stint with the Sixers.
However, during that time, Robinson rehabilitated his value, averaging 8.8 points and 7.7 rebounds in just 18.5 minutes a night.
Now signed on with the Nets, Robinson can help provide similar energy and tenacity on the boards behind Thaddeus Young, who recently inked a four-year, $50 million deal to stay in Brooklyn.
