Lance Stephenson Returns to the Mic with Latest Rap Song 'Poppin'
It's been a rough year for Lance Stephenson the basketball player but a solid one for Lance Stephenson the rapper.
The shooting guard struggled mightily in his first and only season with the Charlotte Hornets, but the team played some of his rap songs—which, truth be told, are pretty good—during pregame warm-ups. Now, “Born Ready” is continuing to put out music following his offseason trade to the Los Angeles Clippers.
His latest track is titled “Poppin,” and it’s about as deep as his jumper is accurate—not very. Still, Stephenson actually sounds like a legitimate rapper as he shouts out his new home in California and talks about how much of a “baller” he is.

The Clippers are hoping Stephenson will be much more than the brick-laying baller he was in 2014-15, when he averaged 8.2 points on 37.6 percent shooting from the field and 17.1 percent from distance.
