Latest Updates on Paul's Playing Status

Monday, Oct. 12

Paul participated in practice on Monday and "should" be available for Wednesday's game in China against the Charlotte Hornets as well, according to Rowan Kavner of NBA.com.

Paul Remains Essential Piece to Clippers Offense

It's no secret how important Paul is to the Clippers. He's truly the engine that makes the “Lob City” offense run so effectively. His ability to distribute, while still keeping defenses honest with his shooting ability, is crucial to the team's success.

The point guard has dealt with knee problems at times throughout his career, but has for the most part remained durable. He appeared in all 82 regular-season games last campaign, though he did end up missing time in the playoffs with a hamstring injury.

With Austin Rivers nursing a mouth injury, according to the Clippers, Pablo Prigioni will probably assume a heavier share of the workload at point guard for the time being. The Clippers could also give some extra minutes to Jamal Crawford as part of the rotation.

That said, regardless of how Doc Rivers decides to divvy up the playing time, the offense won't operate at the same level until Paul is back to full strength. The good news for L.A. is that the injury shouldn't be serious enough to sideline Paul into the regular season.
