Deng Will Play vs. Hornets
Tuesday, April 7
Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reported that Deng will play as the Heat take on the Hornets.
On April 5, Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel reported that Deng would get an MRI:
The 29-year-old scored three points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Heat's 112-89 loss to the Indiana Pacers Sunday night, and the injury didn't appear to hamper him during the game. But now his season appears to be in jeopardy.
This knee injury kept Deng out of a March 31 game against the San Antonio Spurs, but he has otherwise stayed quite healthy in his maiden season in South Beach.
The Heat will be hard-pressed to find a viable replacement for Deng while he recovers. Deng is among the better all-around defenders in the NBA and averages 14 points per contest for a Miami squad that struggles to score.
