Wade Will Try to Play vs. Pistons

Saturday, April 4

The Miami Heat reported Wade said he will attempt to play against Detroit on Saturday.

On April 2, the Heat confirmed Wade would not return for the second half of Thursday night's contest against the Cavaliers due to a left knee bruise. Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio pointed out that Wade had fluid drained from his knee Saturday.

Ethan Skolnick of Bleacher Report reported an encouraging update on Wade's knee after the game:

He had seven points and two rebounds in 13 minutes before exiting in the second quarter.

It's been more of the same for Wade on the injury front this season. He's been able to avoid any serious setbacks, but his style of play remains conducive to taking some knocks. He's dealt with numerous issues, the most notable being hamstring and knee ailments.

Along with that, the Heat have also tried to limit his minutes in an attempt to keep him on the floor. He's averaging under 32 minutes per game, a career low.

The good news for Miami is that he's played well when healthy. He leads the team in scoring and has flashed some vintage form at times. That's exactly what it needed from him after LeBron James' exit and Chris Bosh's season-ending injury.
