Westbrook Records 7th 15-15-15 Stat Line in Last 30 Seasons

Bleacher Report MilestonesJan 17, 2015

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook recorded 17 points, 15 rebounds and 17 assists in Friday's 127-115 win over the Golden State Warriors, giving him the NBA's seventh 15-15-15 game over the past 30 seasons, per NBA.com/stats.

Only four other players have accomplished the feat during that time, with Magic Johnson and Jason Kidd doing it twice, while Larry Bird and Rajon Rondo each hit the mark once.

Including Westbrook's from Friday, four of the outings included 17 or more points and 17 or more assists, led by a 24-17-17 (points-rebounds-assists) effort from Johnson in April 1989 and an 18-17-20 effort from Rondo in March 2012, per Basketball-Reference's play index. Kidd had the other 17-15-17 game, recording 19 points, 16 rebounds and 17 assists toward the end of his career in February 2010.

For Westbrook, the 17 assists were a new personal best, eclipsing the 16 he recorded in an April 2010 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, per Basketball-Reference's play index.

The 15 rebounds tied his personal best, which was previously set back in December 2010 against the New Jersey Nets, per the same play index.

Most important of all, Westbrook's massive outing helped the struggling Thunder to get back on track, following a stretch of three losses in the previous four games.

For an encore, Westbrook will face the Orlando Magic on Sunday, with the 19-20 Thunder having a chance to get back to .500 for the first time since Jan. 2.
