Bogut Returns vs. Jazz

Friday, Jan. 31

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reported Bogut would return against the Jazz on Friday.

Bogut Battling Illness

Tuesday, Jan. 27

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reported the details of Bogut's status:

Bogut was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft, but injuries have hampered him throughout his career. When healthy, the dynamic big man is an exceptional paint defender, a strong rebounder and an underrated passer who can change the game on both ends of the floor.

Right knee tendinitis struck for Bogut earlier this season in early December. At that time, Basketball Insiders' Alex Kennedy highlighted Bogut's impact:

As irreplaceable as Bogut is due to his unique skills, Golden State has enough depth and flexibility in its rotation to compensate for his absence for the time being. Scoring won't be a problem, because the backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson alone is enough for opponents to deal with.

The Warriors have ascended among the NBA's elite thanks to superior defense this year, though. They must ensure that their efforts keep up on that end. If that objective can be accomplished, coach Steve Kerr's squad should be just fine in engaging in more frequent shootouts until Bogut returns.
