Vine user Snorman posted a video of Barkley's ironclad promise. The analyst slapped his declaration down at the beginning of Inside the NBA before quickly reconsidering.
"I'm not going to eat until the Lakers win a game," Barkley said. "Let me rethink that."
The biggest problem with Barkley not eating until the Lakers win a game is the part where the Lakers are terrible and Barkley succumbs to rickets. Los Angeles stands at a winless 0-5 thus far and has an extended forecast of pain in its immediate future.
TNT tweeted a graphic forecasting the results of Barkley's diet.
For Barkley to eat in the next week, Kobe Bryant and Co. would have to bleed a win out of the Hornets, Grizzlies, Pelicans or Spurs. Considering the team's head coach is adamant in his unwillingness to play good, smart basketball, that won't be an easy task. At their current clip, it's not crazy to think the Lakers might go 0-17 and pick up their first win of the season against the Detroit Pistons on December 2.
As for Barkley, I wouldn't hold my breath on the Lakers diet. He'll probably be in San Antonio in the next month, where he can't help but partake in the churros.
