San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Marco Belinelli left the team's matchup with the Atlanta Hawks due to a groin injury.
The team's official Twitter account passed along the latest on the guard:
Asked to step up early in the year with Kawhi Leonard missing time, Belinelli was a key contributor during the first two games. Averaging 12.0 points and 2.5 assists per game, the Italian player has been more than just a key reserve.

Luckily, the Spurs have plenty of other offensive weapons who can step up in his place. With the likes of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker still leading the team, the defending champions can likely continue to thrive without Belinelli.
In a tough Western Conference, having every piece on the floor is critical. Going on the road to take on an undefeated Houston Rockets team on Thursday night, not having Belinelli in the lineup would certainly hurt the team's depth against a strong team.
