The Memphis Grizzlies suffered an early season injury setback Friday night against the Pacers as Courtney Lee suffered a mild concussion and didn't return.
Memphis Commercial Appeal's Ronald Tillery reported the injury:
Lee was the team's leading scorer and rebounder in the first half with 12 points and four boards, but didn't return for the second half. Tayshaun Prince was inserted in his place after playing only three first-half minutes.
The 29-year-old veteran has played some of his best basketball since joining Memphis in January, scoring 11 points and playing 30 minutes per game—both much better than his numbers in Boston—in 47 starts.
Memphis' offseason acquisition of Vince Carter will loom large if Lee misses extended time. Also expect an uptick in minutes for Quincy Pondexter and Prince, with rookie shooting guard Jordan Adams also waiting in the wings.
