Mike Woodson managed to do something even J.R. Smith thought was crazy.

The Knicks head coach dug deep into his closet and put on a polka dot shirt that is, in a word, mesmerizing.

Here is the sartorial nightmare via an Instagram picture tweeted by Smith.

As you can see by the hashtag "#Top5WorstShirtsIveSeenInMyLife!" the Knicks' 27-year-old guard is not a fan. Even Woodson looks a little depressed by the shirt he is wearing.

While this is an awful wardrobe decision, only made worse by the sudden absence of polka dots in the back, the big issue is Woodson put himself into a fashion corner of sorts.

Many of you might remember the coach wearing this marvel brought to the masses via Chris Herring's Twitter

By comparison, every single shirt falls woefully short in the swagger department.

Larry Brown Sports reminds us that the Knicks coaching staff hasn't been all that pleased with how Smith has conducted himself this season, so we assume this latest joke, albeit harmless, will have the coaches shaking their heads in disappointment once again.

If you are curious as to what kind of character Smith can be on and off the court, I think Milford Jerome sang it best with this homage to the most entertaining Knicks player around.

There are some potential NSFW images at the 2:32 mark.

The man's never met a pass he wasn't going to catch and then shoot, and he's never missed an opportunity to have fans chuckling.

As it were, there are limits to Smith's ridiculous nature. It begins and ends at whatever his coach is wearing.
