Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis Are Totally and Completely 'Laverne & Shirley'
If the next Milwaukee Bucks opening chant doesn't include, "Schlemiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeffer incorporated!" I am going to be pretty upset.
SportsGrid happened upon the latest NBA BIG commercial, and we have to say, it's rather perfect.
Now, we agree with Glenn Davis, who writes for SportsGrid, that the pop culture reference is rather outdated.
But that doesn't diminish the fact that the ad hits at the heart of who these guys really are. Don't doubt for a second that this isn't a perfect reflection of Ellis and Jennings.
Because it is.
They are Laverne and Shirley, Lucy and Ethel—the duo who get into some entertaining hijinks and find their way out on the other end unscathed.
The Bucks currently have the highest amount of field goals attempted per game—a stat aided by Ellis and Jennings, who are top 12 in the league in the same category. The team is also 19th in points allowed and a mediocre 15th in assists.
It's isn't pretty, but the 26-27 Milwaukee Bucks are still smelling fairly rosy. In the eighth playoff spot, they hold a comfortable 3.5-game lead over the Philadelphia 76ers.
So, Ellis and Jennings, you two continue tossing up those audacious shots, because we love to see them. Keep on getting into your own brand of hijinks, because we have a feeling you will come out better for it on the other side.
