LeBron James Breaks Another Incredible Record Tuesday Night vs. Blazers

Brian LeighJun 7, 2018

LeBron James scored 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night, adding yet another milestone to his impressive resume.

With 2:34 left in the fourth quarter, LeBron slammed home an alley-oop from Ray Allen for points No. 29 and 30. Per the NBA's official twitter account, that slam made James the first player in league history to record six straight games with 30-plus points and at least 60-percent shooting:

Perhaps the most amazing thing about LeBron's latest record has been his consistency. Though he scored 30-plus points in all six games, he never scored more than 32. That Miami can rely on him to have the same, dominant performance on a nightly basis is truly a rare blessing.

LeBron's torrid scoring pace and complete performances have led the Heat to six straight wins.

The highlight of LeBron's impressive sextet was probably a 13-of-14 shooting performance against the Charlotte Bobcats last Monday. Great as that was, though, it's hard to overshadow any of his last six games; each one has been spectacular in its own unique way.

What James has been able to do since Feb. 3—and, really, over the past two years as a whole—lends further credence to his case for "greatest player of all time." It's early and he's still got plenty of work left to do, but no man has made a case this convincing since Michael Jordan's retirement. Not even Kobe Bryant.

The Heat went on to win Tuesday's game, 117-104. They haven't lost during LeBron's monster stretch, a fact the King will likely allude to as its most important payoff.

But for now, let's ignore humility and kowtow before a true basketball god.
