Carmelo Anthony Stalked by Kevin Garnett Fan at Knicks-Wolves Game

The now infamous trash-talking between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony may have subsided, but that doesn't mean fans have let the matter go just yet. In fact, the New York Post's Marc Berman reports that one crazed Minnesota fan went so far as pursuing 'Melo all the way to the locker room prior to Friday's contest between the visiting New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The fan snuck by security when the Knicks players filed into the arena. He yelled at Anthony, “KG, KG. You don’t know who Kevin Garnett is?’’

Anthony appeared ruffled, shouting back, “Why are you following me? Why are you following me?’’ before ducking into the locker room. The fan was immediately kicked out of the building by arena and Knicks security but was not arrested.

This fan either breached security with ninja-like stealth, or the guys standing guard at the Target Center need to tighten things up.

Of course, it's hard not to see some symmetry with Anthony's own stalker-ish behavior. Though the on-court trash talking set all this nonsense in motion, Carmelo's decision to loiter around the Celtics' team bus took it to a whole other level.

The on-court confrontation and subsequent 'bus-waiting' footage seen around the world.

Whether the score was ever settled to the Knicks star's satisfaction, he and KG eventually intimated that the run-in was water under the bridge.

Even if the rumors about Garnett's comments to Anthony are inaccurate, whatever he said was more than enough to create some bad blood. So bad, even, that some fans have taken the exchange almost as personally as Anthony had.

Sure, this is a bizarre and somewhat frightening story, but there's a silver lining here. Garnett clearly still has some loyal fans back in Minneapolis—a little too loyal.

Anthony, meanwhile, clearly has a few enemies—perhaps more than a few after Friday's action was all said and done. Apparently unperturbed by the evening's earlier harassment, 'Melo went on to drop 36 points in a winning effort against the Timberwolves.

So much for throwing him off his game.
