Watch Kevin Durant Absolutely Devastate Marcin Gortat with Poster Dunk

Jesse DorseyFeatured ColumnistJanuary 15, 2013

Kevin Durant had a big night against the Phoenix Suns in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 102-90 win, scoring 41 points throughout the evening. This dunk made these two points stand out in a big way.

It was a game like any other for Durant. He was knocking down shots left and right, cruising his way to another dominant game, when the lane parted like the Red Sea, and Marcin Gortat decided that challenging the shot was the wise thing to do.

It wasn't.

What followed was a gruesome "thrunk" that wasn't a dunk in the classic sense of the term (he didn't seem to get any rim), but was way too ferocious to be a layup.

I think my bro @kdtrey5 tryna battle me for the most posters this year...I think I'm up a couple but y he do Gortat like that...lol

Half the arena just stood up with that Durant dunk over Gortat -- Suns fans definitely included. Durant has 19 this quarter.

What you have here is a candidate for dunk of the year, and with so many candidates in mid-January, things are only looking up.

And it was a great dunk and all, but something about Kendrick Perkins coming in to slap Durant in the head afterward makes it seem like it would deter him from doing it again. Easy on those head slaps, Perk.
