Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Stay Married, Wife of Lakers Star Drops Divorce
Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, continue to be married, and will remain so for quite some time, as the divorce petition by Mrs. Bryant was reportedly dropped.ย
TMZ reports Vanessa Bryant has decided to stay married to the Lakers superstar and father of her two daughters, issuing Kobe Bryant is "notย getting divorced, becauseย Vanessa Bryantย says so ... She will file legal docs to dismiss her divorce petition."
If there is one thing going well this season, it's been the relationship between Kobe Bryant and his wife, who were on the verge of divorce not long ago.ย
Not sure that is exactly on top of what Lakers fans were hoping for this year, but they will take their blessings where they can find them.ย
Back in December of 2011, TMZ reported Vanessa Bryant had filed for divorce for reasons they stated as the NBA star being "unfaithful."
Whatever the reasons, the report stated the legal papers cited "irreconcilable differences," ones that seem to be very much reconciled at the moment.ย
If the past year has been about Kobe getting healthy and staying productive on the court, it has been just as much about mending his relationship with his wife off of it.ย
The report reminds us the two have been moving ever slowly to this decision, leaving theย Hurricane Sandy relief concert arm-in-arm and then spending New Year's Eve together.ย
There was even the 2012 Christmas card of the Bryants that really showed a happy family ready to put some nasty business well behind them.ย
If you are wondering about financial ramifications of the decision, TMZ has you covered on that as well:
"Fact is ... we've checked property records and Vanessa still owns 2 of the Newport Beach mansions โ she justย sold the third for $3.2 mil.ย We don't know for sure, but it seems like Kobe may have signed a post-nup, giving Vanessa more financial leverage in the relationship.
"
Bryant continues to make his way through an awful season wherein a star-studded team has been hit with injuries and underachieving production.ย
Still, he would be the first to tell you 2013 is getting off to a rather great start.ย
