NBA referees are back to troll and LOL at your expense.
On Tuesday night, the Miami Heat took on the Charlotte Bobcats in a game in which the biggest highlight came thanks to an overzealous official.
We are used to NBA refs not calling traveling violations and capriciously deciding on the fly which fouls they are going to call during a game, but we usually get closure as to what happened.
With just seconds on the clock in the first half, LeBron James takes the ball to the hole and is greeted by Charlotte's Gerald Henderson.
According to Barry Petchesky at Deadspin, it's Bismack Biyombo who is called for the foul for slapping James' arm. Then comes a technical foul called on James for (insert any old reason you would like here).
Officials say he thrust his chest at Henderson. Wrecked by pec. RT @jpkawas Why was that lebron Thecnical for?— Ira Winderman (@IraHeatBeat) October 24, 2012
That makes no sense either, mostly because we don't see the thrusting of his chest at Henderson, and also because it then should have been a personal foul on James.
Is this some new form of the double tech refs love to shove down our throats so often during the season? Perhaps we will see more of, Here is one foul for you, Mr. Player, and for you, I didn't like your face on that play, so a technical for you.
Either way, I am completely interested in what you all have to say. I have never been all that warm to NBA officials to begin with, making this call particularly distressing.
It usually takes a week into the season to raise this level of frustration.
