Who are the best scorers in the league this season by the quarter?

Kobe Bryant is leading the league in overall scoring this year, and LeBron James, Kevin Durant and many other NBA superstars are following right behind him.

After so much was made of LeBron James' fourth quarter performances in the NBA Finals last season, I thought it would be good to take a look at how the top 10 scorers in the league are broken down into their individual performances by quarter.

This list is in reverse order of players standing in overall points per game averages and will show the broken down statistics into minutes, points, shooting percentage and usage percentage for each player in each of the four quarters.

Usage percentage is basically the percentage of team plays leading to a shot or a turnover that is used by a particular player during his time on the court. A higher number is not always a good thing as it usually means that a player is shooting the ball a lot more than utilizing teammates.

Continue reading to find out the per-quarter statistics for each of the top scoring players at this point of the season.

Statistics are current before games played on February 1, 2012.
