Miami Heat Should Deal Chris Bosh for a Center

Ethan NorofJun 7, 2018

Chris Bosh disappointed a lot of Miami Heat fans in his first season with the team.

After the team's season culminated in a disappointing loss in the NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks, Bosh was visibly upset and even went down to his knees in tears on the way to the locker room.

Now, to put the icing on the cake, in a radio interview with ESPN, Bosh dances around the question, but seems to hint that "The Decision" was a mistake and said that the Heat need to own up to their collective decision to team up together.

That is a fairly bold statement coming from the third best player on the team that often underwhelmed at various points last season.

Prior to Bosh's signing in Miami, he was one of the most sought-after free agents on the open market. Coming off of back-to-back campaigns where he averaged a double-double in Toronto, Bosh looked like a force in the low post—something that he hasn't resembled thus far during his tenure in Miami.

With a new collective bargaining agreement almost certain to bring on harsher financial restrictions to teams in the league, the Heat are going to have to get creative about how they intend to structure the club moving forward.

Let's get one thing straight: If the Heat were going to trade one of their three stars, there's no doubt that it would be Bosh.

Dwyane Wade is the unquestioned leader on Miami, and the thought of trading LeBron is a laughable one at best.

The Heat failed to make an impact at the center position throughout the season. With Udonis Haslem capable of filling the role of starting power forward, trading Bosh for a legitimate option in the middle to free up the offense for Wade and James may be a thought that's entertained moving forward.

Bosh is a frequent victim of sharp criticism, but rightfully so. Rather than leading by example on the court, Bosh has continued to talk at a time where the Heat need to just shut their mouths and play the game.

Pat Riley is the master of sending a message, and it's possible that he could send a rather loud one with the trading of Bosh.

It's undoubtedly a topic of discussion.
