NBA Trade Rumors: Why Andre Iguodala Is Finished with Philadelphia 76ers

Andre Iguodala is one of the many hot names on the trade market. The Philadelphia 76ers tried to trade him last season, but they never got a deal they liked. The same thing happened in the days leading up to the 2011 NBA draft, which is why Iguodala is still a 76er. 

The 6'6", 207-pound forward is a tremendous defender and because of that, several teams have interest in Iguodala. There have been rumors saying Iguodala is headed to the Lakers or the Clippers, and some have said he is going to be traded to the Golden State Warriors. 

Nothing has happened yet, and now we will have to wait even longer. The NBA has locked out the players because they failed to complete a new collective bargaining agreement. When the news broke, it wasn't much of a surprise because both sides are very far apart. 

Nevertheless, NBA trade rumors are still afloat. The league may be in a lockout, but they know once it is over that deals need to be quickly made. 

Iguodala will be one of the first players traded once the lockout is over because the 76ers have to fill pressing needs. The forward is their best trade bait, and they will deal him away to become a better team. 

The main concerns this offseason for the 76ers were adding size and someone that can score. They drafted Nikola Vucevic from USC. The 7'0", 260-pound center finally gives them a strong center. 

Free agency and trades are the only ways for Philadelphia to improve their roster, and their best option is to trade Iguodala. Several teams need defensive help, which is why Iguodala is such a valuable target. 

No player on the 76ers roster averaged over 15 points per game last season. This is an area that needs to be fixed if Philadelphia plans to get further in the Eastern Conference playoffs. 

Acquiring a player like Monta Ellis would do wonders for this team. The 76ers need a player capable of scoring 20-plus points every night, and Ellis can easily be that guy. 

Philadelphia has a young team to build upon, and they are making progress. However, if they want to get better then Iguodala has to go.

Iguodala's agent is trying to get the forward back home to Los Angeles, but will a deal actually happen? The 76ers will trade Iguodala to improve their roster, and hope that a killer deal soon arises.  

Unfortunately, the 76ers have to wait until the lockout is over.
