First and foremost, I want to let everyone know that the likelihood of any of these trades or signings happening is as likely as Greg Oden playing a full season, or Andre Miller hitting a three.

This is a complete fantasy article, only to tease the mind of how the Portland Trailblazers could be a power house in the league.

Who knows, maybe one of these might occur, but I completely doubt it.

Enjoy reading!

(And these trades are made assuming Greg Oden stays healthy.)

Step 1: Acquire Minnesota's First Rounder

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 05: Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis looks on from the bench against the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center on March 5, 2011 in Washington, DC. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downlo

This is the least likely to happen because of David Kahn's amazing GM skills.

Ok yes, that sentence was complete nonsense.

So what would happen here is a trade that would happen right after Minnesota wins the Draft Lottery this year (complete speculation). Portland would offer a package of Nicolas Batum, Rudy Fernandez, their First Rounder and Marcus Camby for Minnesota's first overall pick and Johnny Flynn.

Rotation Results after Step One:

PG: Johny Flynn

SG: Wesley Matthews

SF: Gerald Wallace

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge

C: Greg Oden

Bench:  Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, Patty Mills, Elliot Williams and Luke Babbit

Reserves: Jarron Collins, Chris Johnson and Armon Johnson

Step 2: Draft Kyrie Irving

ANAHEIM, CA - MARCH 24: Kyrie Irving #1 of the Duke Blue Devils looks on against the Arizona Wildcats during the west regional semifinal of the 2011 NCAA men's basketball tournament at the Honda Center on March 24, 2011 in Anaheim, California. (Photo by

Portland needs a go to play maker and perimeter scorer because of Brandon Roy's health issues.

Kyrie Irving is the best available Point Guard in the Draft. If Portland acquired the first overall pick, he would be a lock-in for their choice.

The Trailblazers would most likely become a fast paced team with him at the helms, and they would sure be a good one at that.

Rotation Results after Step Two:

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Wesley Matthews

SF: Gerald Wallace

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge

C: Greg Oden

Bench:  Johny Flynn, Andre Miller, Brandon Roy, Elliot Williams and Luke Babbit

Reserves: Jarron Collins, Chris Johnson, Patty Mills and Armon Johnson

Step 3: Trade Away Andre Miller

With Kyrie on the roster, there really is no need for Andre Miller.

They play almost identically, except for Kyrie being a better shooter and more athletic.

Irving could easily outplay Miller as Portland's starting point guard, and they don't need a veteran contract bogging down their salary cap.

Best advice would be to move Miller to a team for a back up big man. My advice, trade Miller for Amir Johnson, an extremely athletic post defender from Toronto.

Rotation Results after Step Three:

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Wesley Matthews

SF: Gerald Wallace

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge

C: Greg Oden

Bench:  Johny Flynn, Amir Johnson, Brandon Roy, Elliot Williams and Luke Babbit

Reserves: Jarron Collins, Chris Johnson, Patty Mills and Armon Johnson

Step 4: Use Brandon Roy as Trade Bait

LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 20: Brandon Roy #7 of the Portland Trail Blazers dribbles as he is defended by Pau Gasol #16 of the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center on March 20, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges

Roy's best days are passed him, a sad thing to say about a 26-year-old.

The only way I can see a team using him is as a Sixth Man for scoring and play making off the bench, or as a positive influence in the locker room to help youngsters develop. This one is the most far-fetched due to Roy's max contract.

In a perfect world, Portland trades Roy to Denver for Nene and Aaron Afflalo.

Roy would help keep the Nuggets scoring once the starters take a rest, and could help Gallinari and Chandler fully develop their games.

Rotation Results after Step Four:

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Wesley Matthews

SF: Gerald Wallace

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge

C: Greg Oden

Bench:  Johny Flynn, Amir Johnson, Aaron Afflalo, Nene, and Luke Babbit

Reserves: Jarron Collins, Chris Johnson, Patty Mills, Elliot Williams and Armon Johnson.

Step 5: Add Veteran Presences to Help in the Locker Room, Not to Actually Play

ATLANTA - MAY 2: Guard Jerry Stackhouse #24 of the Milwaukee Bucks looks at the scoreboard during Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks during the 2010 NBA Playoffs at Philips Arena on May 2,

The final step to completely remaking the team would be to add a few veteran presences to the locker room.

They could help guide the younger players as they develop. Sure, they can even be called upon to play once games look like they are well out of reach for the other team.

My suggestions would be to bring in Jerry Stackhouse and Ime Udoka to the team. Both know the tricks to the business and could surely help develop players and keep them in their places. Also, cut either Jarron Collins or Chris Johnson.

Rotation Results after Step Five:

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Wesley Matthews

SF: Gerald Wallace

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge

C: Greg Oden

Bench:  Johny Flynn, Amir Johnson, Aaron Afflalo, Nene, and Luke Babbit

Reserves: Jarron Collins/Chris Johnson, Patty Mills, Jerry Stackhouse, Ime Udoka and Armon Johnson

Final Product

LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 20: LaMarcus Aldridge #12 of the Portland Trail Blazers goes in for a layup in front of Pau Gasol #16 of the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center on March 20, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. NOTE TO USER: User expressly ackn

Please tell me there is one team in the NBA who wouldn't be counting their prayers before they played this team.

The biggest reason why they would be so dangerous wouldn't be their amazing starting lineup, but that they would have the best bench in all of basketball world wide (except maybe the USA Olympic Team).

I can already imagine how much a revamped team they can become, starting fast breaks off of all the rebounds due to missed shots caused by the stifling defense.

NBA Championships, here come the Blazers! (Not really, this is all my imagination.)
