Carmelo Anthony has been said to be on the move for several weeks, and the Dallas Mavericks are the latest destination.

Dallas has been rumored to be interested in a trade for Anthony, even if he is not willing to re-sign with the team for any time period beyond this season.

Dallas is currently ranked third in the Western Conference with an overall record of 33-15. The Mavs are also ranked near the bottom of the league in all offensive categories, despite a good record.

Anthony would be welcomed with open arms in Dallas, as he would have a great supporting cast including Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd.

The main factors hindering the development of this trade are based on what Denver would like to receive along with the players that Dallas has to their disposal.

The Mavericks surely do not want to send away the core of their team and Dallas' bench players have not played well enough to warrant trading away a star like Anthony to acquire them.

The Nuggets have played well recently despite all of the trade talks and distractions surrounding the team.

Denver currently sits at 29-20 and would like to add one or two quality players that can contribute during a playoff push down the stretch.

Denver needs to act quickly if they wish to gain any sort of value for Anthony as the trade deadline is rapidly approaching.

Dallas seems like the best option for Anthony out of the many teams that have reportedly been interested.

The Mavericks are a potential threat to make a run at an NBA Championship this season, and Anthony would without a doubt enjoy being traded to a contender.

Only time will tell if this rumor will add up to an Anthony trade, but fans in Denver and in Dallas should pay attention closely over the coming days and weeks.
