Andre Iguodala's name has been mentioned on the trading block for quite sometime.
With the NBA season already approaching the halfway mark, the trade must be happening soon, right?
Well, as we inch closer and closer to the trade, no one has asked who is untouchable on the 76ers.
Is there anyone who is? How about Evan Turner?
In my opinion, I wouldn't place the tag of "untouchable" on Turner, however, if Iguodala is dealt he won't be involved in the trade.
In other words, if the Sixers make an attempt to grab a superstar, I think they would keep Iguodala to play a complementary role and trade Turner.
Plus, the Sixers have some depth at the shooting guard position with Jodie Meeks and Lou Williams.
If the Sixers did this, they would be a solid team built to win now, but the major question is if they would be good enough to beat the top teams like the Heat, Celtics and Lakers.
Having said all of this, the chances of that happening is highly unlikely. Therefore, Turner is pretty much sealed as far as remaining a 76er.
Also, it doesn't seem like that's the direction they want to head in or else they'd be trying to put their foot in the door for Carmelo Anthony (at least I hope so).
Will Andre Iguodala be dealt before the season ends?
But one Sixer who I believe is untouchable is Jrue Holiday.
So far this season, Holiday has been a consistent everyday point guard who has lived up to his potential.
It also clear that head coach, Doug Collins, is a big fan of him and so is the Sixers fan base.
This season Holiday is averaging 14.7 points and 6.6 assists per game and has recently been on fire.
In fact, starting from Dec. 22 through today, Holiday has scored double-digits every game and in the month of January he is averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds.
For the remainder of the year, Holiday will continue to grow with the Sixers' young lineup and hopefully help Philly clinch a playoff spot.
Holiday will be a valuable part of the offense in the future and is a valuable part now.
As for the rest of the squad, I think they are all open for trade.
Elton Brand isn't necessarily "untouchable", but his massive contract almost makes him out to be.
The Sixers hold a lot of expiring contracts in Jason Kapono, Thaddeus Young, Tony Battie, Spencer Hawes and Darius Songalia.
All of those players can be solid tools in making a trade happen and their expirings tempt the other team.
As we get closer and closer to the All-Star break of the season, we are becoming closer and closer to a trade happening that is certainly involving Iguodala.
Iguodala is clearly on the market and don't be surprised when if gets dealt soon because a trade is just right around the corner.
