Milwaukee Bucks: How Can Brandon Jennings Guide the Deer Past the Celtics?

Zach HerringNov 2, 2010

For the Bucks to beat the Celtics, Brandon Jennings will have to be playing his best. If he can play how he did on Saturday for the Bucks home opener, the Bucks are looking at a win.

He got his career triple-double that night and was at the top of his game all night. He finished the game with 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

He gave the ball up when he needed to and took smart shots, showing Bucks fans that he is not going to shoot just because. On defense, he went after the missed shots and chased down loose balls.

Jennings was not the only Buck to step up at the home opener; Bogut and Maggette also stepped up and helped the Bucks to a victory. The same will be needed against the Celtics.

The Celtics are a great team, one of the best in the East, and they have an explosive point guard that Jennings will have to match up against.

His name is Rajon Rondo, yes of course, if you watch NBA basketball you know who he is. If the Bucks are looking at beating this great Celtics team, stopping Rondo is another key.

Brandon Jennings has shown better defense so far this season. He plays tighter and goes for rebounds. Rondo has a terrible jump shot, so Brandon will need to be at the top of his defensive game. He is more of a perimeter defender. Rondo drives a lot.

The game will for sure be a challenge for Jennings and the Bucks, but as we have seen, they're not too shy to step up to a challenge.

Another key to a Bucks victory is Andrew Bogut. The Celtics have Kevin Garnett, Shaq and Glen Davis. Those are some good guys to go up against. Perkins is out till February with an injury.

Bogut will be pushed around the whole game and probably fouled and will need to make those free throws. In the first game of the season for the Bucks, Bogut went 3-for-10 from the free throw line. That cannot happen if the Bucks want to win.

The Bucks versus Celtics will be on ESPN.
