Carmelo Anthony: On The Verge Of Going To The New Jersey Nets

Roy FryeContributor IISeptember 25, 2010

Denver is very close to trading all-star forward Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets are afraid he might leave the team out in the cold in free agency like the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Carmelo has reportedly agreed to a trade to New Jersey willing to sign a contract extension there. The trade might look like this.

Teams Involved: Denver, New Jersey, Charlotte, and Utah

Denver Nuggets:

Give: Carmelo Anthony

Get: Derrick Favors, Andrei Kirilenko, multiple first round picks

New Jersey Nets:

Give: Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, first round pick(s)

Get: Carmelo Anthony

Utah Jazz:

Give: Andrei Kirilenko

Get: Boris Diaw

Charlotte Bobcats:

Give: Boris Diaw, and probably a first round pick

Get: Devin Harris

This trade would give away some of New Jersey's best potential players but in return they get one of the most dynamic players in the league. Denver gets good piece in this trade.

The trade may not look like this but it's highly likely to happen this way. The deal is said to have a deadline by Monday or Anthony deal is off. Denver doesn't want this getting in the way of training camp.

Carmelo just might be able to heal the wounded hearts of Nets fans who saw an athletic number 15 get traded. Anthony just might get people back into their seats.

It looks like Melo is heading to the Meadowlands.
