What we have on this team is veteran leadership with Jason Kidd, an MVP, future hall of famer, and all time in Dirk Nowitzki,  former all stars Jason Terry, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion. That is 5 former all stars and 3-4 current ones. With Jason Terry willing to take the sixth man role (where he has great success) It gives the Mavericks the chance to look like this

Center: Brendan Haywood/Tyson Chandler

Power Forward: Dirk Nowitzki

Small Forward: Shawn Marion

Shooting Guard: Caron Butler

Point Guard: Jason Kidd

This gives Jason Terry the opportunity to average 25-28 minutes a game coming in for Butler and Marion when the Mavericks choose to go small ball. They have also built for the future with J.J. Barea and Rodrigue Beaubois. My question to the Mavericks is why haven't you done anything about it? They are the only team with 5 all stars, besides the Celtics. But, the difference is that our stars are playing to the fullest of their potential. With our bruising centers, youth movement, leadership, and better defense, expect Dallas as a favorite to win it all this year.
