Move Aside Lakers, Miami Heat Threaten To Win N.B.A. Championship

Matthew WilderAug 18, 2010

The big three are the number one threat to win the N.B.A., flat out. It is very surprising to hear LeBron say the Lakers are still the favorites to win the N.B.A.Ā title. They haveĀ the three superstars along with Zydrunas Ilguaksas and Mike Miller. How can any team stand against them? Let's take a good look at the revived Miami Heat.Ā

LeBron James

1 of 5

LeBron knows he will rule the N.B.A. now. Joining Miami could very well end the debate of Kobe vs. LeBron. He is already a great player, but joining forces with Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Zydrunas Ilguaskas and Mike Miller makes it too easy.

Fans in general should recognize that by leaving Cleveland, his image is tainted. He took the coward's way out and although he has a great chance to get rings, his "greatness" has been severely diminished.

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh is always a scoring threat. There is no guarantee he will score more points this year with LeBron and Wade needing to score. However, if LeBron and Wade go cold, he can pick them up.

Dwayne Wade

The man of the hour in Miami is Dwayne Wade. Perhaps he had a good feeling that LeBron and Bosh were on their way, otherwise he might have taken off. It was clearly a smart move to stay.

Betrayl or Smart Move?

Many will argue LeBron should have stayed. Others will argue that it was alright to leave, but not to trash Cleveland.Ā  A select few might think both actions were perfectly acceptable.

Regardless of where you stand on the issue, LeBron has a great chance to get his first ring.

He still could have done it Cleveland, but now we may never know for sure.

Stats Do Not Lie

Here is what the trio brings to the table. Last year, LeBron had 29.7 PPG, 50.3Ā Ā FG %Ā , 7.3 rebounds per game and 8.6 assists per game. Bosh had 24.0 PPG, 51.8 FG %, 10.8 rebounds per game, and 2.4 assists per game. For Wade, the numbers were 26.6 points per game, 47.6 FG %, 4.8 rebounds per game, and 6.5 assists per game.
