How soon we forget! Yesterday on the Mike & Mike show, Mike Greenberg insinuated that Lebron James would be the second best player on his new team. The insinuation is trendy and furthermore it simply isn’t true. Experts will argue that James has never carried his team to a title, and that Wade has. Wade did indeed win the title in the 2005/2006 season. That year however Shaquille O'Neal was still a dominant force with averages of 20 points and 9 rebounds. Shaquille also shot an amazing .600 from the floor(the third highest percentage in his career when playing over 50 games) In other words when the offense stalled, or when the young Wade needed settling the team could dump the ball into Shaquille and expect conversion 60% of the time. I argue that Wade could and would not have won the title without such a luxury. My reason for believing the ladder is that Wade’s winning percentage without Shaquille O'Neal is a very average 53.8%. With Shaquille O'Neal Wade winning percentage is a more than impressive 63%. The previous statistical references does not include the 2007/2008 season when the Miami Heat finished 15-67. That year Shaq played 46 total games with Heat before being traded to Phoenix. In the same year Wade played only 51 games due to injury

In comparison to Wades 53% winning percentage without Shaq, Lebron’s winning percentage without having a dominate teammate(his whole career) opposite him is a more impressive 60.8%. In the category of winning Lebron James is the better player. Lebron James has been the MVP of the league twice without a dominate teammate, Dwayne Wade is yet to win an MVP. Statistically Lebron is the better scorer, rebounder, passer, and he is even a better 3 point shooter. At 6’9 Lebron amazingly handles the ball better than Wade. Dwayne turns the ball over 3.7 times per game compared to Lebron’s 3.3 turnovers per game.

Who is more clutch you ask? www.82 games.com has the statistics to proove that Lebron James is the best clutch player in the NBA. Lebron's shooting percentage in the clutch is .340, Kobe Bryant’s percentage is .250, Dwayne Wade shoots a respectable .275 in the clutch. Lebron also leads in clutch shot mades with 17, in comparison Wade has made only 11. With that being said, the NBA is a business and the team should call on it's best player to win games. When the Heat needs solid point guard play shouldn’t Lebron be the person with the ball in his hands? After all he is a better passer, and handler of the ball. When the Heat need a defensive stop, shouldn’t Lebron(All Defensive 1st team) be the man to guard the opposing teams best player? Wade has never made 1st team all NBA. When the Heat needs a three pointer late, shouldn’t the better(Lebron) shooter from three point range get the ball?

In closing. Dwayne Wade is a great player. There is however a reason that Lebron James is a two time League MVP. The reason is simple! Lebron James does most everything on a basketball court very well. With that being said, Lebron James is without a doubt the best player on any team that he joins!
