LaVar Ball, Sons Lonzo, LaMelo, LiAngelo Reportedly to Get Facebook Video Series

Tim DanielsJul 5, 2017

LaVar Ball and his trio of basketball-playing sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo, will reportedly star in a Facebook docuseries about their family.

Denise Petski of Deadline first reported the news Monday. Details surrounding the project remain undetermined, including the number of episodes that will be filmed and a potential debut date.

The outspoken patriarch of the Ball family has become one of the most polarizing figures in sports over the past handful of months. While some appreciate his entrepreneurial focus for the future of his sons, others are turned off by his bombastic approach.

Lonzo Ball became the first son to reach the NBA when the Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft after a standout freshman season at UCLA.

Meanwhile, LiAngelo (class of 2017) and LaMelo (2019) are both slated to follow in his college footsteps as commits to the Bruins after starring at Chino Hills High School in California.

LaVar laid out his master plan in an interview withย Jeff Goodmanย of ESPN.com last month.

"I'm going to do the same thing [one-and-done college career] with Melo," he said. "And we get three of the Ball boys on the Lakers together, and we gonna go championship, championship, championship, championship, championship. You think I'm playing? You saw what they did in high school."

He was also asked about stepping back from the spotlight and replied: "I ain't stepping back to nothing. ... I don't step back. Why would I change?"

Instead, it seems like LaVar will further increase his time in the spotlight through the upcoming Facebook series.
