Alec NathanNov 18, 2016

Donald Sterling and the NBA settled a lawsuit Friday after the former Los Angeles Clippers owner alleged that the Association conspired to remove him from his post before selling the franchise to Steve Ballmer.

According to the Los Angeles Times' Nathan Fenno, terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

In an email to the paper, attorney Bobby Samini explained Sterling was "pleased with the outcome and is looking forward to focusing on future endeavors."

Sterling initially sought $600 million in a lawsuit filed against the NBA and his wife, Shelly Sterling, according to ESPN.com news services.

However, the suit was dismissed in March after U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin ruled Sterling did not have a basis for claims that the NBA and Shelly caused the team to sell for a "markedly reduced" price since it went for a record-setting $2 billion.

After Olguin's ruling, Sterling's legal team said he would file a separate lawsuit, according to Fenno

Sterling, who purchased the Clippers in 1981, was banned for life by Commissioner Adam Silver in April 2014 and fined $2.5 million after recordings were released in which he made racist remarks.
