C.J. McCollum's Mom Keeps Notepads Full of Scouting Reports

Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollumย recently signed a four-year, $106 million extension.
During the press conference Friday, the 24-year-old talked about his mom, who apparently doubles as a scout.

"My mom, sheโs got the notepads after every game. Sheโs taking notes and [says] โLet me know when youโre ready for me to go over this scouting report for this weekend.โ And Iโm like, โMom, I just watched film for four hours, I donโt want to see this.โ"
McCollum also said his dad tells him to get his โhandles like Kyrie [Irving]" and advises him to watch for backdoor cuts.
โThatโs the type of family I have,โ McCollum said.
This dynamic seems to have worked out for the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2016, who averaged 20.8 points for the No. 5-seeded Blazers.
