With the New York Knicks sinking further and further out of the playoff picture, Carmelo Anthony is getting fed up.
Late in Tuesday night's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Melo had some words with a heckling fan. Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal took note of the exchange:
Melo said there was a fan riding him the whole game, saying the team sucked. Melo, in return, said he pointed at Jim Dolan and told fan...— Chris Herring (@HerringWSJ) March 2, 2016
... that he should ask for his money back if that's how he feels. Fan said he wasn't coming back, apparently.— Chris Herring (@HerringWSJ) March 2, 2016
According to ESPN New York's Ian Begley, Anthony directed the fan to owner Jim Dolan and told them to ask for a refund:
Carmelo Anthony told a fan seated near James Dolan who was heckling him: "Look, the owner's right there. Ask for your money back."— Ian Begley (@IanBegley) March 2, 2016
The Knicks are on pace to miss the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Veterans like Anthony don't often trade jabs with hecklers, but his frustration seems to be boiling over.
