Rapper Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 Fashion Week Show at Madison Square Garden made plenty of headlines in the music world Thursday, as he unveiled tracks off his album T.L.O.P., but the sports world took notice when former NBA star Lamar Odom made an appearance.

According to Esther Lee of Us Weekly, Odom “made his first official appearance after his hospitalization last fall, joining his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian,” at the event. Lee noted Us Weekly entertainment director Ian Drew “said the entire arena erupted in cheers as West walked Odom to his seat.”

In October, Odom was found unconscious at the Love Ranch South in Nevada. While hospitalized, "he remained in a coma for nearly 72 hours before he finally opened his eyes,” per Lee.

Odom has not appeared in an NBA game since the 2012-13 campaign, when he laced it up for the Los Angeles Clippers. He played 14 seasons in the league for the Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat and was the fourth overall pick in the 1999 draft.

While Odom was the 2010-11 NBA Sixth Man of the Year and won a bronze medal for the 2004 United States Olympic team, basketball fans probably know him best for his role on the 2008-09 and 2009-10 Lakers. Both of those teams won NBA titles, and Odom was a primary contributor alongside Kobe Bryant.

Odom averaged 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in his career and was a double-double threat for both of those championship teams (11.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per night in 2008-09 and 10.8 points and 9.8 rebounds a night in 2009-10).

Fans will be glad to see the 36-year-old is apparently doing well and making public appearances again after his recent health scare.
