NBA 3-Point Contest 2016: TV Schedule, Participants and Predicted Winner
Although other events during All-Star Weekend might get more hype, the 2016 Three-Point Contest could end up being the most entertaining of the bunch.
The shooting competition won't have highlight-reel plays like the dunk contest, but it makes up for it with players who are simply the best at what they do. Four of the top five players in the NBA in made three-pointers will take part in this year's event, along with a few more guys who make shooting look easy.
Stephen Curry is the obvious favorite, but tune in to see if anyone has what it takes to knock the defending champion off his pedestal.

Obviously, the first name you notice on the list is Curry. The reigning MVP is also the defending winner of the Three-Point Contest after beating teammate Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving in the final round a year ago.
Not only is Curry the best three-point shooter in the NBA, but he also has a legitimate argument as one of the best ever. Of course, this isn't something he wants to consider himself:
Regardless of his opinion, the numbers don't lie. Last season, he broke his own record for the most made three-pointers in a season, something he has a chance to do again within a few weeks. He currently has 245 made threes, 84 more than the next player on the list.
Interestingly, the No. 2 player in the NBA in this category is Thompson. The fellow Splash Brother has matched Curry with quite a few impressive shooting performances this year:
This isn't great for anyone who faces the Golden State Warriors, but it will be fun to watch when the two players battle each other Saturday night.
Then again, this will be more than just a one-on-one race. J.J. Redick has done a better job of rounding out his game over the years, but he hasn't slowed down as a shooter, making 47.6 percent of shots beyond the arc this season, trailing only Kawhi Leonard.
James Harden and Kyle Lowry might struggle with consistency beyond the arc compared to others on the list, but they are comfortable taking deep looks, with both players ranking in the top five in the NBA in made three-pointers.
Another interesting addition is rookie Devin Booker, who will be the youngest-ever participant in this contest. The Phoenix Suns have struggled this year, but the lottery pick has lived up to expectations with 10.6 points per game and a 40.3 percent mark from deep. This could be the first of many appearances in this contest among the league's elite shooters.

Chris Bosh is a bit more out of place as the only big man on the list. However, the 6'11" forward has improved his outside shooting over the last couple of years and is up to 36.5 percent for the season. Considering the three-time winner of the Shooting Stars competition will no longer have that event to win, he will try to continue his success on All-Star Saturday Night in this battle.
The good news is expectations are low, so even if he struggles, no one will hold him accountable.
In reality, everyone is seemingly competing for second place. If Curry performs even close to his ability, the rest of the field doesn't have a chance. There is a reason people have started going to games early just to watch the talented shooter in warm-ups.
Booker could be an interesting sleeper, but the best bet is the not-so-bold prediction of Curry once again taking the crown.
Predicted winner: Stephen Curry
