James Harden Spotted Wearing Air Jordans Despite Signing $200M Deal with Adidas
Although Adidas is going to make James Harden a very wealthy person over the next decade-plus, it doesn't appear as though the Houston Rockets star is 100 percent Team Adidas yet.
Sports spotted Harden leaving a movie theater over the weekend. There's nothing noteworthy about that, except for the fact the 2014-15 NBA MVP runner-up was wearing Air Jordans.
Last month, ESPN.com's Darren reported Harden agreed to a 13-year, $200 million deal with Adidas. That came not too long after Harden's deal with Nike expired, as Cindy of the Washington Post noted.
Before people jump on Harden for wearing Air Jordans, it is important to note that his deal with Adidas does not start until Oct. 1. That means he is free to wear what he wants right now. However, Adidas probably isn't too thrilled that its soon-to-be client is wearing a competitor's sneakers less than a month before their deal begins.
Again, there technically isn't anything wrong with Harden wearing what he wants right now. This just creates a funny picture when all things are considered.
