NBA Summer League 2015: Tuesday Schedule, Latest Las Vegas Standings and Stats
Glorified scrimmages or not, the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League remains one of the major landmarks of the offseason and continues to entertain.
It's all about individual performances out west as the action transitions to Tuesday. There, teams compete in a points system for a title while individuals look to round out their games. Some hope to just make rosters; others want a bigger piece of the playing-time pie.
It's no shock to see most of the focus goes to rookies. As one of the first big auditions for big-name players in the Association, the event in Las Vegas is of the must-see variety.

Players to Watch on Tuesday
Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia 76ers
It's Jahlil Okafor time in Philadelphia with the news Joel Embiid will miss all of next season, per Yahoo Sports' Dan Devine.
Based on the early returns, the Duke product seems up to task.
One of the most polished big men on the offensive end of the court to enter the draft in years, Okafor hasn't wasted time. Just look at a note by Bleacher Report's Jared Zwerling:
Of course, one of the biggest knocks was his defensive abilities. Those seem on the turnaround if a prolific block is any sign:
For Okafor, the exhibitions are a way for him to get accustomed to playing with his teammates.
Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer captured his thoughts: "I think if I communicate, I will be in good hands at both ends of the floor," Okafor said. "So getting more comfortable communicating with my teammates [is the top priority.]"
Okafor gets another chance to show his improvement and work on his game Tuesday. It comes just in time, too, now that he knows the hopes of a franchise rest on his shoulders.
Justise Winslow, Miami Heat

Pat Riley and the Miami Heat won big on draft night when Justise Winslow fell in their laps.
So far this summer, it seems the feel-good vibes get reinforced every time the Duke product suits up in the scrimmages.
Winslow was an absolute monster in the Orlando Summer League with averages of 11.5 points, 2.3 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel provided some context:
In other words, Winslow looks every bit the player the Heat hope he can be to help round out a playoff-hopeful lineup featuring Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade.
For now, the best fans can do is catch Winslow in Las Vegas. Based on recent outings, it's not a bad option.
Bobby Portis, Chicago Bulls
Maybe one of the biggest questions coming out of Las Vegas is rather simple—just how buried can Bobby Portis remain in Chicago if he keeps this up?
"This," as in a 9-of-14 performance with 23 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a block in his debut. ESPN's Kevin Pelton put it best after the whopper of a debut:
Portis cooled off in his next performance, but the point stands. It is a crowded depth chart in Chicago, sure. Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson rest in front of the rookie on the depth chart. Nikola Mirotic, Cameron Bairstow and Cristiano Felicio are in there somewhere, too.
If this keeps up, though, the Bulls will have some tough decisions to make. Portis' outburst isn't much of a surprise, not after he won the SEC Player of the Year award last year and was near the top of most "pro-ready" lists before the draft.
For now, all fans can do is catch Portis' stellar play in Vegas, as he might ride the bench once the regular season rolls around.
In a nutshell, it's one of the beauties of summer league ball.
