Internet Mocks Floyd Mayweather Jr. for Wearing Jorts to Game 2 of NBA Finals

Dan CarsonJun 8, 2015

Let's start this by recognizing that there is a time and place for jean shorts.

For many, that window is music festivals or brunch. The opportunity can also arise in the form of a hootenanny or NASCAR race, which are not always mutually exclusive.

The point is, there are options out there for a person looking to cut off a pair of old Levi's, but you got to pick your spots. Floyd Mayweather Jr. picked his spot, and he picked wrong.

The five-division champion showed up courtside at Oracle Arena for Game 2 of the NBA Finals Sunday night in what I can only describe as haute jort couture.

Naturally, the Internet immediately set itself to dogging Mayweather's pre-frayed designer jorts.

Mayweather seems to have heard his Jethro Tulls were being put to the sword on social media. After the game, the boxer uploaded an Instagram message about haters and how we live in an unfair world where hating has yet to be monetized.

It's pretty deep, if you think about it. People would hate less if they had to pay the Hate Fairy a tuppence for each nasty IG comment they left. People would also literally do anything less if it suddenly cost more, because of economics and basic laws of utility and stuff.

Dan is on Twitter. Hating costs a buck-o five.
