Philadelphia 76ers Are Favored to Win a Game for the 1st Time in 2014-15 Season
It only took 69 tries, but the Philadelphia 76ers are finally favored to win a game in the 2014-15 regular season.
When the 76ers started the season 0-13, ESPN.com's Marc Stein revealed they were not expected to be favored in any of their remaining games. After all, this was a team that many thought could challenge for the worst record in NBA history.
As expected, the Sixers haven't managed to eke out many wins this season, going 16-52 through their first 68 games. However, the New York Knicks (14-54) and Minnesota Timberwolves (15-53) each currently have worse records than Philadelphia.
Keep that little nugget of information in mind when you check out Friday's slate of games.
The Sixers host the Knicks on Friday night. While the game will have no effect on the playoff race, it does have some significance beyond the lottery implications. According to Ian Wenik of The 700 Level, it will mark the first time all season that the 76ers are favored to win. Pregame.com has the 76ers as 6.5-point favorites over the Knicks, per Wenik.
In case you were wondering, New York is 2-0 against Philadelphia this season. That head-to-head record doesn't seem to matter to Las Vegas.
Just when Knicks fans thought their team's season couldn't get any worse, something like this happens.
