Ty Lawson Zings James Harden and Dallas Cowboys with a Single Instagram Post
The Dallas Cowboys had the worst defense in the NFL last season, and it doesn't look too much better in the first game of the 2014-15 season.
A picture of Houston Rockets star James Harden as the Cowboys' defensive coordinator as been floating around the Internet. That was something that Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson thought was pretty funny.
Lawson posted the picture aboveโduring the Cowboys' season openerโwith the following caption: "Cowboys defensive coordinator #Rp."
Update from Wednesday, Oct. 1
It has been a few weeks since Ty Lawson posted the picture of James Harden posing as the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, but he recently took some time to explain the post.
Here's what Lawson said about the post, perย The Denver Post's Christopher Dempsey:
"It was just the Cowboys. I wasnโt looking at James Harden.
I was just looking at James Harden, the way his face was, the way he was staring. It looked like โIโm pissed because the defense is terrible.โ So I go to the View House to watch the Broncos game and Iโm getting like 1,000, 2,000 retweets and people talking trash. And Iโm like โWhat did I post?โ So I looked at it again. And people were saying that James is the worst defender, and thatโs when I was like โOhhh, what did I do?โ But it was at the point of no return. I couldnโt have been like, delete; everybody would have thought I was soft. So I just had to ride it out.
"
So it wasn't a shot at Harden's "defensive skills"?
"Nah, it wasnโt. Hours (after I posted it) I was like why am I getting so much love and hate from it. And then I realized, they thought I was taking a shot at James Harden, which Iโm not. Me and James are real cool.
I havenโt heard from him yet, but I know he definitely saw it. I guarantee that Houston game is going to have a lot of fire.
"
You can decide for yourself as to whether or not you buy Lawson's explanation.
--End of Update--
There has been a lot made of Harden's defenseย in the past, and given the Cowboys' performance on Sunday, some people believe there may be a connection.
