Milwaukee Bucks' Ekpe Udoh Meets Betty White After Epic Twitter Quest
Betty White is so hot right now.
If you take a quick poll asking professional athletes which celebrity they would want to meet, you would hear her name, well, at least twice. We know for a fact that the Milwaukee Bucks’ big man Ekpe Udoh is a huge Betty White fan, as is Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista.
For those of you filled with cynicism and doubt in your life—chin up. Consider the tale of Udoh, who wanted nothing more than to meet the star of Hot in Cleveland, Golden Girls and pretty much everything that is good in life.
Here is how it all went down:
Udoh tests the waters, dipping his toes into the pool of hope on Twitter.
How do I go about meeting Betty White???— Ekpe Udoh (@EkpeUdoh) June 23, 2012
Here is a lesson to all of you kids out there. Don't give up, even when your first effort fails.
Still searching for Betty White— Ekpe Udoh (@EkpeUdoh) August 4, 2012
Now Ekpe, there's a rumor going around that you've got a little something — a little infatuation — with Betty White. Can you explain the history of that? What's going on there?
You know, I just want to meet Betty White. As a kid, me and my moms used to just sit on the couch and just watch "Golden Girls." And, you know, she got all the swag. Why not?
We get back to Udoh's Rocky montage in tweet form, as he works toward the ultimate goal.
Gotta meet Betty White— Ekpe Udoh (@EkpeUdoh) January 11, 2013
And finally, Udoh meets Betty White in a fairy-tale ending.
Now we have to get working on giving "Joey Bats" the chance to meet White.
I would like to use this forum to state that I, too, am a huge Betty White fan, and would love to meet her.
It's time for all of you to come clean as well, because the woman is pretty much the greatest thing since sliced bread.
